Coaching - It's Coming to the U.S.

Here's the latest from Ann McMaster, project leader of the coaching initiative.

More to come! Peggy

The Kairos Foundation has been looking for ways to introduce coaching into the MTL program for almost 10 years. Now, the synergy of demand, support, time and money (thanks to the Makens campaign!) has come together. It’s time.

We’re piloting the first Coaching Essentials course in the US and it looks like it will be full. Coaching Essentials has already piloted in South Africa and is a blazing success, both for the coaches and for their coachees!

Coaching is not just about being there for others; it's about the 'space' the coach brings to the coaching relationship (which, of course, is about the ‘space’ brought to all aspects of the coach’s life). It's about organizing and honing your ability to support change in others' lives. It's a way of fast tracking your life - being present to yourself, fully, without reservations, and being present to others, fully, without reservations. All this while creating an income stream for yourself.

For the person being coached, it’s about being on the other end of that very special kind of attention, plus having the benefit of an ‘expert’ who wants you to have what you want in your life – and, in the process, saving you lots of wasted effort and creating more straight-forward results in less time. A true win/win for everyone.

The Coaching Essentials course covers a 4-month period. The first half of the course focuses on connecting and contracting. The second half of the course focuses on conducting and completing. The first weekend is scheduled for October 26-28, followed by 2 months of practice. The second weekend is scheduled for January 4-6, followed by 2 more months of practice. During that time, the coaches will work with MTL students who are willing to be coached. This practice round of coaching will be provided at no charge. In exchange, the coachees will provide confidential feedback on their experience.

Following the completion of the second weekend, we’ll be announcing our new crop of US coaches – look for it!

Leading this coaching initiative worldwide has been one of my greatest pleasures. May we all enjoy this new program and the benefits it brings.
