Memorial service for Brad Brown

A memorial service for Brad Brown will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anselm’s Episcopal Church. St. Anselm’s is located at 682 Michael Lane in Lafayette, CA 94549.

A reception will follow at a location to be announced.

You can find St. Anselm’s website at http://www.stanselms.ws

I’ve heard from several friends and colleagues that they are planning on traveling to California for the service. I greatly look forward to seeing many of you there.

If you’re unable to attend, you may want to consider holding a local gathering of More To Life students to honor Brad’s life and his lasting and unique contributions.

With gratitude,

Peggy

My heart lightened today as I read the subject of the email announcing
Brad's memorial service. Unfortunately, it quickly saddened as I saw the date. Unfortunately, Gary, Casey and I will be in San Diego with my family an unable to attend the service.

We are both saddened that we cannot attend. Gary is sad that he never got to meet him. We are sad that we will miss seeing so many of you and other friends from around the world that we have not seen.

However I trust that it is Life's plan.

Our hearts will be there. And we continue to practice the work, the
gifts, Brad and Roy have given us.

Please do share of the event so we may experience it as well.

Have you considered videotaping the service so that those who cannot attend in person can see the experience?

If that is not an option, I would invite that those who do speak at the service, if you do prepare notes in advance, would you be willing to share them?

Love,

These mornings Claud and I sit outside and talk, drinking coffee, connecting before we start the day. A reference point we have in our conversations is Brad, and this morning was no different. What should we do about work, our health....the children....and how about the new Jackson, our grandson who was born less than a week before Brad passed? In the midst of these talks, we remember Brad saying, "If you don't decide your purpose, you'll be swept into someone else's." or... "If you can't vision it, it's not likely to happen." Brad is a part of our most significant considerations.

This reminds me of Marreck's post about Brad, especially when Brad told Marreck that he thought Sharon was still with him. I am comforted by this idea....that Brad, too, is still with us.

Thank you Marreck for sharing, and thank each of you for your remembrances, shares, and thoughts about Brad. He will always be our teacher, and I am grateful to have been given more than I imagined possible...which is what Brad said was on offer.

With love from,
Jan Matney
