My thanks to Rhonda and to those of you who are working with her on this initiative. Peggy
Makens Family Matching Campaign Update
Greetings all!
I’d like to update you on the progress of the Makens Family Matching Campaign.
This is an exciting venture, underpinned by the enormous generosity of Bill and Diana Makens, who are matching every contribution dollar for dollar up to $350,000. This campaign will fund our strategic and operational projects from vision to reality.
I am thrilled to tell you that worldwide we have $643,000 in individual pledges and related matching funds -- 54% of our overall goal of $1,200,000! Of the $643,000, we have received $316,000 to date.
Here is a detailed breakdown of pledges and matching. As you can see, we have $89,000 remaining in matching funds, with only $20,000 remaining in the double matching fund.
| Pledge Type | Individual Pledges | Makens Matching | Double Matching | Total |
| One Time | $164,785 | $164,785 | $329,570 | |
| Double Matching | $ 79,543 | $ 79,543 | $ 79,543 | $238,628 |
| Sharon Parish Fund | $ 37,308 | $ 37,308 | ---N/A-- | $ 74,616 |
| Total | $281,636 | $281,636 | $ 79,543 | $642,813 |
| Remaining in Matching | $ 68,364 | $ 20,457 | $ 88,822 | |
| $731,636 |
I want to acknowledge our dedicated project leaders who are spending much time and loving effort in implementing the key strategies to enhance enrollment, retention and leadership development. Specifically, Ann McMaster for leading the coaching program; Pascale Ascher and Sue Oldham for the mentor licensing and new mentor course development; Darren Rudkin for the brand architecture project, and Frances Grant, David Templer and Maggie Spooner for their expertise leading the new MTL marketing materials project; and Gerry Moline for the leadership/hub model design project.
And lastly, a heartfelt thank-you to those of you who are playing your part in bringing these strategies to fruition. Whether through enrolling for the campaign, or making a financial contribution, you are exhibiting leadership in this program. Through your ongoing contributions of time, money and skills, you are already playing a crucial role in helping us step out in a new direction.

I'm really excited to see how many people have come forward to contribute to the Makens fund! It affirms for me that we have a common vision for the organisation which is growing and being sourced in all four corners of the world.
Thank you, Rhonda, for all that you're bringing forward and helping to create!

Well done to Rhonda and all of the teams and members of our community who are taking their part in creating this exciting campaign.
I have just come back from WOW2 and WOW1 in the US and the energy, creativity and generosity of the groups blew me away.
It really is true, for me, that we are the change we want to be in the world. Each of us makes a difference to these new plans by giving time, our energy, funds and spreading the word, which the blog is a huge part of.
I am proud to be part of the Makens campaign and the wider developments the funding is enabling within Kairos.
With love Anna Sexton
